Best sales books; with so many articles, which one’s should you focus on reading?

Personal development, such as listening to informative podcasts, business and sales related audio books, and sales training should be a part of your daily activities if you want to succeed and win more sales.

Another important, yet sometimes forgotten activity (due to our busy lifestyles and schedules), is reading books.

Books; and in this case sales books, can easily help you learn from other people’s mistakes, as well as save time and money by effectively short-cutting the sales process.

In this article, we’ll be looking at the 10 best sales books to add to your bookshelf, so you can make 2021 an amazing year, and beyond.

10 Of The Best Sales Books To Level Up In 2021

Best Sales Books #1 – To Sell Is Human

To Sell Is Human, by Daniel Pink is an incredible book that details how you can effectively and ethically persuade, motivate and convince others.

The book isn’t just about sales, bur rather educates you on why we do the things that we do.

This book will give you practical tips on how to inspire and sell to others, and is a must read.

Best Sales Books #2 – Influence – The Psychology Of Persuasion

On the topic of persuasion and influence, another excellent read if you haven’t already, is Influence – The Psychology Of Persuasion by Robert Cialdini.

Not only does this book go into detail about how to influence your audience, but it also gives you many case studies to demonstrate it into detail – making this definitely one of the best sales books.

#3 – Pitch Anything

Oren Klaff’s book Pitch Anything, is designed to help people with their sales presentations and in particular when asking for funding. His points are:

  • Setting the frame
  • Sharing the story
  • Create intrigue
  • Offer a prize
  • Give them the hook
  • Get a decision

Although our sales process is slightly different; where The 5% Sales Blueprint focuses more on a consultative approach and helping your client sell themselves, it’s still a very good read.

A big lesson for me is how to use the different brain’s we have as humans (reptile, mammal/monkey/ neo cortex), from a sales context.

Best Sales Books #4 – The Ultimate Sales Machine

The Ultimate Sales Machine by Chet Holmes, is an internationally acclaimed book for Sales Professionals and Business Owners alike.

The book talks about sales tactics, sales strategies, hiring Sales Professionals, managing personnel and much more.

It’s definitely one of those best sales books you can reference and pick up again and again.

This book is one that I take when travelling, as there’s always something new to read and learn.

#5 – Mindset – The New Psychology Of Success

Written by Psychologist Carol Dweck, Mindset: The New Psychology Of Success is an excellent read on the importance of a growth mindset; including what it is, and how to build one for you and your teams.

A growth mindset is an important ingredient for your business or team, and this book will share ways on how you can build it into your business.

A great read, which gives a holistic overview on the subject of motivation.

Another one to add to the best sales books category.

Best Sales Books #6 – Start With Why

This book by Simon Sinek sits close to my heart, because one of the key messages we teach as an organisation and in our sales process, is that you have to dig deep and learn people’s why before you can sell to them.

His book Start With Why teaches you that you should dig deeper and learn why, and what it’ll mean for them once they buy – and more importantly own your product or service.

I may be a bit bias, but this methodology adds this book to my list of best sales books.

Check out the book here.

#7 – Deep Work

Deep Work by Cal Newport is an excellent book for Sales Professionals and Business Owners.

The reason why, is both Sales Pro’s and Business Owners regularly get distracted with shiny object syndrome, or by other distractions which take you away from working on your business.

This is added to the list of best sales books because the book will give you actionable advice on how to build proper attention tactics and strategies to stay focused, in an ever-expanding and distracting world.

#8 – Hooked

Hooked by Nir Eyal is an excellent read for those also involved in the marketing, and product creation departments.

If you’re also the Business Owner, then this book is a must read.

Nir Eyal explains in this book the various ingredients needed to hook your audience, and enact a certain buying behaviour.

Best Sales Books #9 – The Sales Acceleration Formula

The Sales Acceleration Formula by Mark Roberge is a step by step guide on how to use data, technology, and inbound marketing to build a large and scalable sales team.

It’s a great read for business start-up’s, or mature business owners too.

Best Sales Books #10 – Emotional Intelligence 2.0

Similar to Ask With Why, Travis Bradberry’s book Emotional Intelligence 2.0 is on my best sales books list because it speaks to the importance of learning about your potential client on a deeper level.

If you’ve read many of my blog posts, you’d know that we’re massive advocates for getting a deep understanding of your potential client’s wants and needs, and this book goes into the importance of that.

Based on the answers of over half a million people, this book will show you how to develop your own emotional intelligence, o that you can become more in tune with not only your potential clients, but the market as well.
